Then, using the custom controller, they can take off and fly around a true representation of the world. The frame rate and movement looks surprisingly smooth. With this new solar energy harvesting technology, the US’s transition to clean energy appears to have greater potential.
How does this solar energy harvesting system work?
Traditional solar thermophotovoltaics (STPV) require an intermediate layer to tailor sunlight for better efficiency. Photons coming from the Sun are absorbed by the front side (the side facing the Sun) of the immediate layer. Solar energy is then converted to thermal energy in the immediate layer. The temperature of the layer subsequently increases.

However, the thermodynamic efficiency limit of STPVs, understood as the blackbody limit (85.4%), is a lot lower than the Lansberg limit (93.3%), the ultimate efficiency limit for solar energy harvesting.

Zhao stated: “In this work, we show that the efficiency deficit is caused by the inevitable back emission of the intermediate layer towards the Sun, resulting from the reciprocity of the system. We propose nonreciprocal STPV systems that utilise an intermediate layer with nonreciprocal radiative properties.

“Such a nonreciprocal intermediate layer can substantially suppress its back emission to the Sun and funnel more photon flux towards the cell.

“We show that, with such improvement, the nonreciprocal STPV system can reach the Landsberg limit, and practical STPV systems with single-junction photovoltaic cells can also experience a significant efficiency boost.”

Young children can quickly and silently become strangled on pull cords, continuous loop cords, inner cords or any other accessible cords on window coverings," said Alex Hoehn-Saric, chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

"Cordless window blinds, shades, draperies, and other window coverings are the safest option," he said in a commission news release.

The hidden danger of corded window coverings can lead to tragedies, even when an adult is nearby, the CPSC warned.

According to CPSC data, about nine children under the age of 5 die every year, on average, from strangling on window blinds and coverings with cords. Furthermore, there were more than 200 window covering cord incidents involving children 8 and younger between January 2009 and December 2021. Of these incidents, nearly half (48%) of the children died.

Even if they don't die, children can be left with serious injuries such as permanent brain damage or even quadriplegia.

Blinds, shades, drapes and other types of window coverings that don't have cords can be found at most home decor stores and online marketplaces. Installing cordless window coverings in any room where a child might be could save their life.

UF Health bringing testing to The Villages

University of Florida Health is teaming up with The Villages Health and state health and emergency management officials to bring drive-thru virus testing to the region Monday.Get more news about uf equipment producer,you can vist our website!

“We are so excited for Villages residents that they are going to have this greater access to testing,” said Gary Lester, vice president of community relations for The Villages. “We’re so grateful for Gov. DeSantis and our friends at University of Florida Health for bringing this higher level of care to our community.”

The large-scale effort expects to test hundreds of people daily for the next five days at a site now in place at The Villages Polo Club.

An appointment is required, and details on how to request one will be forthcoming. Testing is a critical part of tracking and containing infectious diseases like COVID-19.

But shortages in testing sites have become a central concern in increasingly urgent communications among governors and federal officials.

“We know demand for testing will be much higher than we can deliver initially and we ask for patience as this ramps up,” said Jeff Lowenkron, chief medical director of The Villages Health.

Preregistration to receive an FDA-approved clinical test will involve an assessment for symptoms, travel and exposure history. Depending on the severity of their illness, people could potentially be further evaluated onsite or at a UF Health facility or sent home to self-quarantine while awaiting test results. Those tested at the drive-thru site will receive results within 72 hours.

Participants are asked to arrive by golf cart, but those in cars also will be tested.

People who do not yet have symptoms or meet standard clinical testing criteria but still want to be tested will have the opportunity to volunteer for testing through a UF research study that enables them to receive testing as part of an epidemiological protocol known as community surveillance.

The purpose of the study is to assess the degree of asymptomatic viral shedding at the onset of a COVID-19 outbreak. The present invention rebates to an expandable type press . plunge comprising two plunge parts, named formation part and expansion part, which are axially movable in relation to each other, and in which the expansion part is adapted, while moving the parts together, to provide an expansion of some part of the plunge (4).

Said expandable type press plunge is in the first place intended for pressing a lid having upwardly projecting rims to the inner surface of a tubular container while joining, for instance welding together, the lid and the container. The invention is useful for many other purposes whereby it is desired to provide a temporary radial expansion of a plunge, for instance when glue-pressing an inner lid or a similar means in a container tube, when press-forming a part of a tube etc.

The invention has been made especially in connection to high frequence welding of an inner lid in a tubular container, especially a tube having a body of a material which does not absorb high frequence energy, like cardboard, plastic or a similar material, and in which the inner surface of the tube or the outer surface of the lid rim, or both, are formed with a layer of a high frequence receivable material, for instance aluminum, and on said layer a heat weldable layer of material like a suitable plastic, and in which the high frequence receivable layer of material, when being subjected to high frequence currents, is heated so that the outer layer of said weldable material melts and the container parts are welded together.

Although it is stated that the invention is useful in many technical fields and for many different purposes, the invention will in the following mainly be described with reference to weld joining of a lid in a tubular container.

For providing such a pressing together of the lid rim and the inner surface of the container that the container becomes liquid proof, and even gas proof, it is known to use a radially expandable plunge, which is expanded when the high frequence current is connected, so that the two parts of material are pressed together with a predetermined pressure until the high frequence current is disconnected or the weldable layer or layers of material have solidified and become cool enough to give a sealed joint. In many cases the lid is shaped from a plane lid blank which is pressed through a formation ring provided just above the container tube and is moved directly down in the open end of the container tube, preferably by means of the same expandable press plunge as mentioned above.
