The Vision composite molding press, pictured in a 50 ton model, features electrically heated platens with a steady state working temperature of 500° F. The platens are also further drilled for water cooling circulation. The press construction has slab sides with keyways machined in sets to provide correctly proportional loading and exact parallelism of matching components.
The vacuum chamber is formed by heavy duty doors that are mounted to the front and back sides of the press. The American Forest & Paper Association reported that another type of packaging material called boxboard had its lowest operating rate in its five-year record during 2022’s final quarter. Boxboard is typically thinner than cardboard and lacks air pockets.

However, Packaging Corporation of America executives maintained that demand in 2023 still appeared “healthy” compared to pre-COVID times. On the Thursday call, they forecast shipments to be 6% higher in first-quarter 2023 compared to the same period in 2019, on a per-day basis.

Heterogeneous Water Oxidizing Catalysts from Inert Transition Metal Oxide Spinels
Manganese oxides occur naturally as minerals in at least 30 different crystal structures, providing a rigorous test system to explore the significance of atomic positions on the catalytic efficiency of water oxidation. We chose to systematically compare eight synthetic oxide structures containing Mn(III) and Mn(IV) only, with particular emphasis on the five known structural polymorphs of MnO2. We have adapted literature synthesis methods to obtain pure polymorphs and validated their homogeneity and crystallinity by powder X-ray diffraction and both transmission and scanning electron microscopies. Measurement of water oxidation rate by oxygen evolution in aqueous solution was conducted with dispersed nanoparticulate manganese oxides and a standard ruthenium dye photo-oxidant system. No Ru was absorbed on the catalyst surface as observed by XPS and EDX. The post reaction atomic structure was completely preserved with no amorphization, as observed by HRTEM. Catalytic activities, normalized to surface area (BET), decrease in the series Mn2O3 > Mn3O4 λ-MnO2, where the latter is derived from spinel LiMn2O4 following partial Li+ removal. No catalytic activity is observed from LiMn2O4 and four of the MnO2 polymorphs, in contrast to some literature reports with polydispersed manganese oxides and electro-deposited films. Catalytic activity within the eight examined Mn oxides was found exclusively for (distorted) cubic phases, Mn2O3 (bixbyite), Mn3O4 (hausmannite), and λ-MnO2 (spinel), all containing Mn(III) possessing longer Mn–O bonds between edge-sharing MnO6 octahedra. 2. Structure/Function Relations in Oxygen Evolution Catalysis by Cobalt Oxides
Two polymorphs of nanocrystalline cubic spinel and rhombohedral layered lithium cobalt oxides have been prepared and their application in the photocatalytic oxidation of water examined. The main factor that determines the catalytic activity of the different phases is the presence of a Co4O4 cubic core, which is present in the cubic form of the catalyst, but not in the layered structure
Transition metal oxides containing cubic B4O4 subcores are noted for their catalytic activity in water oxidation (OER). We synthesized a series of ternary spinel oxides, AB2O4, derived from LiMn2O4 by either replacement at the tetrahedral A site or Co substitution at the octahedral B site and measured their electrocatalytic OER activity. Atomic emission and powder X-ray diffraction confirmed spinel structure type and purity. Weak activation of the OER occurs upon A-site substitution: Zn2+ > Mg2+ > A-vacancy > Li+ = 0. Zn and Mg substitution is accompanied by (1) B-site conversion of Mn(IV) to Mn(III), resulting in expansion and higher symmetry of the [Mn4O4]4+ core relative to LiMn2O4 (inducing greater flexibility of the core and lower reorganization barrier to distortions), and (2) the electrochemical oxidation potential for Mn(III)/IV) increases by 0.15–0.2 V, producing a stronger driving force for water oxidation. Progressive replacement of Mn(III/IV) by Co(III) at the B site (LiMn2–xCoxO4, 0 ≤ x ≤ 1.5) both symmetrizes the [Mn4–xCoxO4] core and increases the oxidation potential for Co(III/IV), resulting in the highest OER activity within the spinel structure type. These observations point to two predictors of OER catalysis: (1) Among AMn2O4 spinels, those starting with Mn(III) in the resting lattice (prior to oxidation) result in longer, weaker Mn–O bonds for this eg1 antibonding electronic configuration, yielding greater core flexibility and a higher oxidation potential to Mn(IV), and (2) a linear free energy relationship exists between the electrocatalytic rate and the binding affinity of the substrate oxygen (*OH and *OOH) to the B site.
The two polymorphs of lithium cobalt oxide, LiCoO2, present an opportunity to contrast the structural requirements for reversible charge storage (battery function) vs. catalysis of water oxidation/oxygen evolution (OER; 2H2O → O2 + 4H+ + 4e−). Previously, we reported high OER electrocatalytic activity from nanocrystals of the cubic phase vs. poor activity from the layered phase – the archetypal lithium-ion battery cathode. Here we apply transmission electron microscopy, electron diffraction, voltammetry and elemental analysis under OER electrolysis conditions to show that labile Li+ ions partially deintercalate from layered LiCoO2, initiating structural reorganization to the cubic spinel LiCo2O4, in parallel with formation of a more active catalytic phase. Comparison of cubic LiCoO2 (50 nm) to iridium (5 nm) nanoparticles for OER catalysis (commercial benchmark for membrane-based systems) in basic and neutral electrolyte reveals excellent performance in terms of Tafel slope (48 mV dec−1), faradaic yield (100%) and OER stability (no loss in 14 hours). The inherent OER activity of cubic LiCoO2 and spinel LiCo2O4 is attributed to the presence of [Co4O4]n+ cubane structural units, which provide lower oxidation potential to Co4+ and lower inter-cubane hole mobility. By contrast, the layered phase, which lacks cubane units, exhibits extensive intra-planar hole delocalization which entropically hinders the four electron/hole concerted OER reaction. An essential distinguishing trait of a truly relevant catalyst is efficient continuous operation in a real electrolyzer stack. Initial trials of cubic LiCoO2 in a solid electrolyte alkaline membrane electrolyzer indicate continuous operation for 1000 hours (without failure) at current densities up to 400 mA cm−2 and overpotential lower than proven PGM (platinum group metal) catalysts.

Deaths and physical injuries from direct violence are high in close combat urban settings. Protracted conflicts also bring food insecurity. Outbreaks of infectious disease are common. Surveillance systems and vaccination programmes will be disrupted. In the midst of a continuing pandemic, with a population poorly vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 (34% of Ukrainians have received two doses of vaccine and only 1·7% a third dose), the risk of local spikes of COVID-19 is likely. Destruction of safe water and sanitation facilities only adds to the danger. Continuity of care—maternity services, dialysis, chemotherapy and immunotherapy for cancers, insulin supplies, mental health care—will be derailed. The history of war teaches that sexual violence will be pervasive. What connects this European war to a global pandemic? One word: security. This concept is not fashionable in global health. We prefer to talk about sustainability. Securitisation is seen as anathema to the values of global health—the progressive expansion of rights, equity, and social justice. Herzen observed the failure of European revolutions in the 1840s. His conclusion, relevant today in this latest European war, was that there are no simple solutions to the problems faced by societies. Every historical moment is unique. The only fact one can be sure of is the absolute importance of the life of the individual. There can be no sacrifice of present and urgent human needs for a promise of a better future. The goal of life is life itself. There exists no clearer definition of human security.
One final caution. Politicians are calling for Russia to be isolated—ending diplomatic relations, imposing trade embargoes, driving out oligarchs. But be careful what you wish for. Last week, WHO convened a forum to review lessons from research into COVID-19. My task was to identify the challenges to ensuring the best science was published as quickly as possible. The first challenge was that a global pandemic demanded a global science—an international network of scientists able to communicate freely with one another. A second challenge was that global science depends on global trust. And global trust depends on open collaboration with scientists in all countries. Scientists must build trust with other scientists, irrespective of their national origin. We must support one another in the face of often hostile political criticism to provide the most reliable evidence to decision makers. As Herzen wrote “an exclusive feeling of nationality is never productive of good”. Inadvertently isolating Russian scientists and health workers will be self-defeating. Scientists must work towards a more convergent and less divided world—for national as well as human security.

As such, our Lexatrade review isn’t off to the greatest start. The broker’s offer does actually seem decent enough, but the presentation isn’t up to par. We’ll see if the broker’s functional prowess ends up improving what we think.
Moving on to security, Lexatrade leaves a questionable impression. While the broker does have some decent safety conditions, its introduction left us skeptical.

One fact that’s relieving and concerning at the same time is the broker’s choice of the regulator. Lexatrade holds an IFMRRC license. And if you’re unfamiliar with what IFMRRC is, we don’t blame you. Although we do daily broker reviews, we’ve never heard of it before.
IFMRRC stands for International Financial Market Relations Regulation Center. It’s a non-commercial organization that regulates about 60 brokerages. However, it’s apparent that it’s much less limiting than even the more lenient country-based regulators.
So there’s the argument that some regulation is better than none, and that does hold up. But there’s also the fact that while it’s better than nothing, it’s not a significant improvement. So the regulation may impose negligible limits on the broker while generating a false sense of confidence for potential customers.
Again, as we said earlier in our Lexatrade review, the broker doesn’t do anything that sets off alarms. But on a hunch, we wouldn’t call the security excellent. It’s by no means a strict scam, and in fact, it’s safer than the average broker, but you still need to tread carefully.

Lexatrade has five different account types covering budget and high-end options. The broker uses a tiered account progression where each type requires you to reach a specific threshold. The cheapest option is $250 while the most expensive is $100,000.
Cheapest and most expensive aren’t the most precise terms, as there’s no actual cost attached to the account. You can still trade with all the money you deposit. However, we can’t neglect the fact that $100,000 is a hefty sum and isn’t something anyone can reach.
As you progress through the accounts, the bonus we mentioned earlier in our Lexatrade review grows. With the VIP account, it sits at 120% of your deposit. Similar bonuses often have thick strings attached, so be sure to read the terms if you intend to invest.
The setup itself is tried and true and is one of the most common ways for brokers to structure their accounts. It allows them the greatest reach, as the primary concern with the accounts is budget rather than trading style. That means the accounts suit most strategies, and as such, can attract diverse groups of traders.
We aren’t the biggest fan of the huge jumps between the sums you need for different account types. However, that’s a minor complaint, as what you get for each account is actually pretty fair for the price point. One more significant concern is that the broker locks the MT4 platform behind the more expensive account types.
Now, MT4 isn’t a huge upgrade over the default platform. Furthermore, it may not be an upgrade at all. But the fact that the broker locks such a crucial part of its service behind a paywall is distasteful. Still, that doesn’t take away from the solid account offer.
