RuneScape's existence remains the top MMORPG for free

Is RuneScape worth it in 2022?

RuneScape isn't the longest-running game in 20 years because it's an experience that is average and no one commits to over the long run OSRS Gold. As an MMORPG is a part of a genre that appears to always be nearing the point of demise in spite of the popularity of a very few games.

So, as we enter Year 21 of RuneScape's existence remains the top MMORPG for free? Does it justify the expense of a membership fee? The short answer is... Is RuneScape worth the time to play in the 2022's and future? Let's take a look...

Indeed, RuneScape is still as popular as ever with well more than 100,000 concurrent players active during peak times of the daytime. More than 295 million accounts have been created over the last 20 years and , even though a lot of them are inactive today, a great percentage of those accounts are running strong.

The appeal of RuneScape is quite unique as there's no single characteristic it has that could be described as the sole reason behind its success. You can live and thrive by utilizing trade skills such as Mining & Smithing. You can become a master of gathering by learning to master the art of Woodcutting and Fishing or imagine yourself as one of Gielinor's greatest heroes and complete 100's of quests.

This freedom is a huge attraction and, despite it being an established game, the narrative is relatively easy to grasp regardless of what time you sign up. A lot of the in-game Quests are mini-stories that are set in the world , and don't connect to any overarching lore anyway.

Content is continuously added to the game and the improvements for the game will keep being made. This could sometimes be an issue, particularly after monetisation's scandal a couple of years ago. The introduction to real-money transactions using treasure keys caused a huge disturbance, but it's nothing the game industry hasn't seen before. FIFA points though.

Although they are still around but they're not in the same way as they were which is the result of a studio who understands its fans while knowing what must be done to survive osrs items for sale. A healthy balance was the result.
